In my leather workshop I only use vegetable-tanned full-grain leathers. These are traditionally manufactured in an environmentally friendly way using plant derived tanning agents and generally regarded as the highest quality type of leather. Leather goods made from this leather have the special ability to develope a unique patina (see below), meaning that they - counterintuitively - are aging not to deteriorate but to become even more pleasing with time.
I first and foremost design my leather goods according to their intended use and the resulting challenges. The difficulty ultimately lies in harmonizing the respective function with aesthetic requirements. The basic rule is: keep it clean and simple.
handmade & robust
The manufacturing of leather is among the most ancient crafts in human history. In my leather workshop I follow the centuries-old methods and practices of leather craftsmanship carrying out all steps by hand - from creating the designs over cutting and processing the leather to saddle stitching and lastly creating a durable and shiny edge. The added value of the manual work directly translates into durability and quality. All of my leather products are created to last a lifetime - which in order to do so not only requires precision while crafting but also that only high-quality materials are used.
high-quality & natural

Italian roots
When discussing vegetable-tanned leather, Tuscany, in particular, can look back on a long history and rich tradition. The leathers produced here by a consortium of local tanneries, who's mission is to preserve the centuries old methods and practices, are among the best in the world. For my leather goods I almost exclusively use leathers from these very tanneries.
