About the leathers origin
The highest quality and most popular leathers are famously known to come from Italy. Tuscany, in particular, can look back on a long history and rich tradition of vegetable leather tanning. The leather produced here is among the best in the world.
In 1994, the "Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale" (Consortium for Genuine Italian Vegetable-Tanned Leather) was founded in this region to preserve the centuries-old tradition. Currently, 19 leather artisans in the Tuscan tanning district protect this niche of high-quality leather products and all share the same philosophy and passion for vegetable-tanned leather. The methods and processes they use are still closely linked to local traditions and the lifestyle of the region.
For my leather products I exclusively use veg tan full grain leathers from those very tanneries. The "Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale" consistently guarantees high quality by adhering to strict technical specifications and regulations for production and is committed to ensuring that all materials used in the tanning process, as well as the tannery waste waters, can be fully recycled in the interests of a sustainable and circular economy.
